Hello,

I'm author of the website about history of Klimontow and coal mine Klimontow (now a part of city Sosnowiec, 15 km from Katowice (Kattowitz), southern Poland.
www.klimontow-sosnowiec.prv.pl

I would like to find some information, documents or photos about Prussian concern "Prussische Bergwerks-und Hutten - Preussag AG", "Société Anonyme des Charbonnages Mines et Usines de Sosnowice" and about "coal mine Klimontow" (sometimes called "Barbara" or during the war Grube Bismarck 2 in Klimontow or Klimontowgrube). Where could I find this documents and information?

At the begining, the owner of coal mine Klimontow (other names "Barbara") was Société Anonyme des Charbonnages Mines et Usines de Sosnowice. This joint stock company was established in November 8, 1890 in Warsaw by the French and Belgian financiers. The official founder of the Society was Colonel M.P. Vassal. Establishment of the company and its charter were approved by the Russian Tsar Nicholas II on 11 May 1891.In the same year the Society acquired from the Gwarectwo von Kramsta from Sosnowiec all belonging to them, industrial plants and estates. They had the area of 3200 ha of land, of which 1,800 hectares were arable land and 1,300 ha of forests. The functions of governors of the Society before World War I exercised successively: Karnicki M., MD de Vassal Monteviel, Edward Herbst (since 1895) and then for many years, until 1914, Paul de Vassal was Director General. The Governing Board of the Society was established in Warsaw, and management, which are subject to Zaglebie plants, located in Sosnowiec on Glowna Street (now the 3rd of May). Duties of directors righteous successively Alfons (Alphonse) Sużecki, Alfons (Alphonse) Rogalewicz, M. de Saint Quentin, L. Zukowski. Important role in the activities of the Society played a major engineers of coal mines - Stanislaw Stratilatta and zinc plants - Stanislaw Gadomski. In the years 1904-1908 the Society built a modern, abyssal mine "Klimontów" from the shafts "John or Jan" and "Vladislav or Wladyslaw" and in 1913 they built a mine "Klimontów II ". On the grounds of the Society of Sosnowiec coal also brought out several small, shallow mines that leased private entrepreneurs ("Alwin", "Helena", "Hedwig", "Jaroslaw" and "Orion" in Niwka, "Barbara" in Klimontów " Jakub" in Milowice," Matilda "in Dabrowa," Richard "in Sosnowiec," Staszic "and" Wanczykow "in Zagórze et al.
Major changes occurred in coal mining during the great economic crisis. Built before the outbreak of World War I mine, "Klimontów II" (temporarily named "Jadwiga") closed in 1930 due to a decrease in the demand for coal in 1933 were immobilized, and then sunk "Klimontów" and "Mortimer". During World War II, all assets of the Society of Mines and Metallurgy Plant of Sosnowiec Trust was takenk over by the German Central Office of the East (Haupttreuhandstelle Ost) which forwarded it to the Prussian concern Prussische Bergwerks-und Hutten - Preussag AG on 1 January 1942. After the war, all bets were nationalized.
Could you help me, please?

best wishes
